Having travelled extensively around the world, Dr. Cartland returned home in 1915 to face a large dilemma: how could he best show London to his friends and acquaintances?
Everywhere he looked he could not find a service that presented the capital of the United Kingdom the way he envisaged. Tours were very cramped - he did not want his guests feeling like numbers making up a crowd. He required a chauffeur to take them to the historic locations and look after the tour vehicle without problems.
He also sought a personal guide with a true in-depth knowledge to be able to share with them secret anecdotes and stories, an experience to befit what he regarded as the world's greatest city.
